Pollution Standards for trucks are changing and sulfur in diesel fuel is also changing and many truck manufacturers have been working on this for many years. Some are making quite a bit of head way indeed. Soon all over the road 18-wheelers will run more efficiently and cleaner. Let's talk about one of those companies now; Daimler Chrysler with their Caterpillar partnership.

Here is an excerpt of an article from back in 2002, as companies aligned themselves with partnerships in order to comply with the Clinton-EPA low-sulfur rules by 2006;

"DaimlerChysler-Catepillar joint venture is a major step in coming up with a non-sulfur high performance engine. This may give Freightliner and Sterling the only trucks with engines to perform with the new fuel requirements in cold weather states and mountainess terrain. Also it could possible be the only diesel engine allowed in a few years under CA emissions law as part of the AQMDs recent phasing out of non-clean burning engines on truck weighing over 14K GVW. Also with Volvo no longer allowing choice of engines on their future trucks to save on the stocking of parts and to prevent their customers from going to Select-A-truck routine maintenance centers owned by Freightliner who is owned by DaimlerChysler. This could also be a problem for TA Truck Stops because they usually house Select-A-Truck service centers that would not normally stock all the genuine Volvo truck parts in their new deal with two other manufacturers of engines. Can you say turf war? As new truck sales decline and lay offs already occurred at Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbuilt, Volvo, International."

Any time there are new regulations on fuel mileage efficiency, environmental controls or safety regulations the free market adapts in real time. Sometimes this causes chaos and thus opportunity for one competitor over another. I think this is one example of that, as we shall see many more such examples in the transportation and Auto Manufacturing markets in this year. So consider all this in 2006. Continue reading

So you are looking for a used snowplow truck to buy? Hey what the hell, it's less then a new snowplow truck. Is it really? I guess that all depends on what you are doing and what you are looking at to buy. The first thing I would have to think about if I was looking to buy a used snowplow truck, is what am I going to do with it? Will the snowplow truck be used for just my driveway? Will it be used for a residential snowplow account, mainly driveway work? Or are you subcontracted by a municipality for snow removal on major road ways.

The answer to this questions is of major importance. OK, for the first application if your plowing just you own driveway an older snowplow truck that is being retired is fine, as long as all the major components work proper like the brakes, 4 wd, and the snowplow it self. If you are doing residential work you want thoroughly check out the snowplow truck prior to buying because now that truck is your reputation.

Homeowners do not like to be told their driveway won't be ready for them to go to work because your truck broke down. So when you are looking for a snowplow truck for sale you want to check out all the major components. Also run the plow makes sure everything works as it is suppose to. The other thing to keep in mind the brand of the truck, yes that's right. You do not want to buy a snowplow truck that is a special model because you will feel the pain when you need to get a part for it and you have to wait a few days instead of being in stock. Remember the auto parts stores stock what sells best not what doesn't.

The next thing to consider is if you are subcontracted by a municipality, this is usually being paid be the hour for your snowplow truck and you. Remember, this is not start and stop type of plowing this is usually continuous plowing on town road ways. They will usually give you a certain section in your town to plow. When you are looking at snowplows for sale, you again want to keep this in mind.

You do not want a six foot snowplow, you will want a truck with an 8' foot snowplow blade and with a rubber deflector. Good luck trying to plow a roadway with out a snowplow deflector on it at 30 mph or better. If you are looking at snowplow for sale this is what to look at, and do, pre-trip the truck first of all and that should cover all lights, tires etc. Then get on your creeper and start looking underneath check drive shafts, brake lines, cooler lines, wiring harness, fuel tank straps, exhaust and exhaust hangers, and check for fluid leaks. DO this inspection with the engine cold and then at operating temperature.

After dong that then cycle the plow many times not just once or twice why?, because, it takes a few cycles to warm up the hydraulic oil in the the snowplows system and then that's usually when the seals start to leak, and need to be replaced. After the inspection, if everything seems up to snuff and in good working order then make the seller a fair offer. Try not to wait to long, because if the truck is in good shape and everything is fine someone will buy it. Time is money you do no want to spend the plow season looking for a truck especially if you found what you are looking for. I will come out with more on this topic on our snowplow Blog in the next few weeks in the mean, time happy hunting. Continue reading

America loves monster trucks. Heck, everybody loves them. Even The Undertaker has one. In the RC world monster truck means big, 4WD trucks with a lot of ground clearance. They are the ultimate in backyard bashing and handle off-road like nothing else.

Ground clearance and massive tires are what gives these trucks their superb off-road capabilities. Stadium trucks and buggies handle great on dirt tracks, but try running them on grass. On the other hand, can go basically anywhere the transmitter tells them to.

These trucks are also very difficult to flip. Because they have such a wide wheel base and are heavy, they just keep going. A monster truck can fly around a corner at very high speeds and without having to worry about flipping. They are great for jumps as well. No other RC vehicle is as likely to land on its tires as a well-built truck.

Even snow won't stop a good RC truck. Sand, loose gravel, slick grass, and just about any other type of terrain can be conquered. The 4WD gives good grip on any surface and the weight helps put all that torque down.

They come in all shapes and sizes so there is a good option for everyone. Perhaps more so than the other RC vehicle classes, suspension lengths and overall dimensions vary greatly from model to model. There are many upgrades and adjustments available so eventually the truck can be built to fit the driver's needs perfectly.

You can modified these trucks for racing as well. The high center of gravity and weight means they won't perform as well as stadium trucks, but there are many monster truck class races to enter and they can put down some serious speed if tuned correctly.

Racing is not the only event you can bring a monster truck to. Every year multiple trucks bashes are held where experienced drivers can try their hand at crushing cars, clearing obstacles and sending massive jumps.

The fun doesn't stop there, these trucks can also be built for pulling events. In these events competing trucks square off in the ultimate test of torque and power. Some people have tuned their trucks to pull incredible weights, such as full-sized cars.

Ironically, these are perhaps the most versatile RC vehicle available. They can run on concrete or dirt, handle basically any terrain, race and jump. They are amazingly fun for toying around in the backyard. Other than maybe drifting, there isn't much a monster truck can't do. With some dedication even a drifting monster truck wouldn't be completely out of the question.

These days monster trucks are available with both electric and nitro motors. Nitro used to be the only option for trucks, but with the implementation of brushless motors and more powerful batteries the electric models now perform just as well as the nitro models. Which one to get is up to you. Continue reading

Trucks are large size vehicles that were invented in the last decade of 19th century. They are mainly used to transport goods and materials. The word 'truck' had its origin from the Greek word 'Trochos', which means 'Wheels'. These are classified into three based on the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. They are:

Heavy Duty Trucks: The heavy duties are those that can haul the heaviest cargo loads ranging from 19000 pounds to 33000 pounds. They are built heavy and strong to transport heavy goods and materials from the plants or factories to the desired places. Since these come with a lot of features, they are quite difficult to manufacture. Hence, only few companies are manufacturing heavy duty trucks. Some of the prominent names in the market are International Trucks, Ford, GMC, Kenworth, etc. They design and manufacture class 6, 7 and 8 trucks. Some of the popular ones are Ballast tractor, Chipper, Beverage, Packer, Semi-trailer, etc.

Medium Duty Trucks: The medium duty trucks are the trucks that are the most frequently used and popular media of transportation. They are categorized as class 3, 4 and 5 trucks and can haul a minimum load of 10,000 pounds to the maximum of 19500 pounds. These are the most demanding trucks in the market for the transportation of raw materials and industrial products. The most popular types of medium duty trucks are Box, Flatbed, Delivery, Garbage, Lift, Hook lift and Pickup trucks. Ford, GMC, International Trucks, Mack, Chevy and Kenworth Trucks are some of the prime manufacturers of these types of trucks.

Light duty Trucks: These trucks are classified as such due to their lightest hauling capacity. They come under class 8 category and can haul loads that weigh 10000 pounds. These trucks have better traveling abilities and they are mostly used by the cargo transporters to move raw materials to distant places. The leading manufacturers of this type of trucks are Titan, Toyota, Nissan, GMC and Ford. They have rolled out popular models like Tacoma, Sonoma, Titan and F250. The other models which come under this category are Tow trucks, Pickup, SUV, Salvage, Flatbed, Dump, etc. Continue reading

Buying a bank repossessed truck is fairly easy if you know where auctions are held. On the contrary, if you do not know when the auctions are going to be held, it is going to be very tough to prepare. The best way to stay updated on the latest sales and auctions is by contacting the company that is responsible for collecting repossessions. Usually if you look up in the phone book for a repossession agency or some of the various financial companies in your area, some of them will be able to offer some guidance regarding purchasing repossessions. Most companies want as many people to know about the vehicles as possible, so don't think that they are trying to keep their repossessions a secret.

The reason that they want a lot of people to be aware that there are repossessions is because they want as much buying competitions as possible. Fortunately for the buyers, there is typically not a lot of competition because most people do not take the time to research the auction dates. If you have not had much luck with finding a place to buy a repo truck from a bank, you can also consider looking at the government repossessions. Since the economic decline started, the number of repossessions has largely increased. In countries that are not experiencing a recession, there are actually more vehicles being purchased. In the United States, there were considerably less repossessions in the 1990's than there were starting in 2009.

When going out to buy a repo truck that is listed for sale, you there are some things that you should do. The very first thing that you should do before attending an auction is to have an idea in your mind as to what type of truck you want to get. If you do not have any clue about what you are looking for, you will probably waste a lot of time reviewing and inspecting a lot of models that you probably are not going to buy. If you are the type of person that does not have much of an automotive background, you are going to want to bring someone along that has more experience so that you can get some buying tips.

People that know a lot about vehicles are going to be able to determine if there are any flaws in a particular vehicle or model. You will want to have your truck thoroughly inspected before you ever make a purchase because you want to make sure that it works properly. Making a purchase on a repo truck for sale that does not ride smoothly on the road or that has engine problems is just going to give you a headache. Even though there are some vehicles that probably will not be in great shape, there will be plenty of good choices in the repossession market as long as you know what vehicles work well. Continue reading

So you have made a decision to invest all of your hard-earned cash into a towing company so you wish to buy a few tow trucks to begin with. One of many types of trucks you're considering buying may be a heavy duty truck. Before going to search for one, you need to first understand what durable tow trucks actually are, what they're employed for.

These kinds of trucks are simply vehicles that happen to be accustomed to carry, drag or perhaps transport a broken-down car or truck, repossessed car or truck or unlawfully parked vehicle to a specific destination. This may be either an impound yard or perhaps a garage, based on exactly why the vehicle had been towed to begin with. There are various kinds of tow trucks available to you to consider when you're thinking about starting the towing business including wheel lift trucks, flatbed tow trucks, boom trucks, integrated trucks and also hook and chain tow trucks.

Many people often claim that it's best for you to buy a medium duty tow truck as opposed to heavy-duty tow trucks if you're just beginning in the industry. Other people on the other hand state that since you're already committing to the business anyway, why don't you get the most for the money and obtain the larger and much better truck that will perform more for you personally over time. A lot of people also state that you need to get a lot more than one truck when you're thinking about starting a towing business and you will always add a few different types of trucks for ones towing enterprise.

A little helpful advice you will sometimes acquire from others with regards to getting into the towing business is actually to initially spend money on used trucks rather than acquiring new ones. Quite often, these suggestions are given out towards anyone who has rather restricted resources and can't afford to obtain a number of brand-new trucks with their business. You will notice that there are lots of second hand car carriers and also used trucks available for sale on the internet and many of these are typically in good condition.

Additionally, you will discover that you now have a significant choice of used tow trucks to select from, once you learn where to look. There are a variety of internet resources you might like to think about looking through when you're hunting for a high quality used truck to purchase for your business. Most of these resources include things like truck classified ads, used truck directories, in addition to web based auction sites.

In addition to heavy-duty tow trucks, you will discover an enormous collection of some other tow truck models available for you personally to look into on these internet websites. It will be possible to easily determine which trucks you might want to think about purchasing since quite a number of ads often let you know the model, make and condition with the vehicle. Continue reading

The parts are all around

The types of parts that can be used in diecast semi trucks can vary greatly. Some of these trucks will feature doors that can open and close. Others will feature steering wheels that can move the tires around. There are even some that use suspension features that make the truck move up and down just like a real truck might be able to. A semi can even feature a series of levels and controls used to connect a cargo bed to the rest of the truck.

Different special trucks will have special parts

Some trucks will feature specialty parts that will add up to the rest of the truck. For example, many diecast semi trucks can feature additional attachments that work with different types of special functions. These include ladders or rising cargo bed slots. These are things that will work with different types of functions that are used in specific industries. These functions will be added to different trucks as a means of making them look as realistic as they can be with regards to what they are based off of.

They can influence values

Some of these trucks are going to be more valuable than others on the market. This is due to how they are going to be more functional and easier to work with when it comes to different types of things. The standards that are used will vary by each type of truck and should be reviewed when trying to find different trucks for sale on the market. Continue reading
